Your Pancakes Are Free, So You Can Help Kids Like Me!

You might think IHOP Free Pancake Day on March 12th is just a day to get a free short stack of delicious IHOP buttermilk pancakes, but it actually is a day that makes a BIG difference for kids treated at our hospital. Kids like Coleman, who was selected as a 2019 IHOP Kid Chef Team Finalist for his Hawaiian Luau pancakes.

He was six weeks old when diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and taken to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. At the age of seven he underwent a heart transplant. Thanks to the care he received at CHLA, Coleman is healthy and thriving. To help kick off IHOP Free Pancake Day for all 99 of the restaurants supporting CHLA on March 12, he visited the hospital with servers and staff from the nearby Sunset Boulevard restaurant.

It’s easy to celebrate IHOP Free Pancake Day! Here’s how:

  1. Visit a participating IHOP location on March 12th and donate to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in exchange for a free short stack of pancakes.
  2. Invite your friends and family to join you and share that you’re supporting your local children’s hospital on social media using #FreePancakeDay
  3. Try Kid Chef Brody’s OREO® Oh My Goodness pancake that is featured as a limited-time special on the IHOP menu through April 14, with $1 of each purchase benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (depending on location).

Thanks to IHOP for supporting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and to all of you for enjoying free pancakes and helping kids!
